• Charges are calculated on a per-minute basis, based on the actual video content of the final digital files.

Pricing for ALL formats on a Per-Project Basis

1,000 minutes or more: $0.47/min.
500 to 999 minutes: $0.57/min.
300 to 500 minutes: $0.67/min.
240 to 300 minutes: $0.77/min.
120 to 240 minutes: $0.87/min.
60 to 120 minutes: $0.97/min.
30 to 60 minutes: $1.07/min
00 to 30 minutes: $1.17 min

Price scale for VHS tapes, on a Per-Tape Basis

Important: VHS tapes can contain as little as 5 minutes of video, or as much as 360 minutes (6hrs) on a single tape, depending on the speed of the original recording, SP, LP, EP, SLP etc. Clients don't always know the actual duration of their tapes, and that information is only revealed after the conversion is done. For that reason, a separate scale is required for VHS, to create a balanced pricing policy for the client and for the service provider. As always, we work with all our clients to make our services affordable.

$0.97 /min,, tapes with content 30 to 60 minutes
$0.87 /min., tapes with content 60 to 120 minutes
$0.77 /min., tapes with content 120 to 180 minutes
$0.67 /min., tapes with content more than 180 minutes

Minimum Charge for any tape less than 30 minutes is $35.00

File Format Duplication - Transcoding

Create Viewing Files

Once digitized, broadcast quality Master Files are usually large in size, requiring special software to play them. The Masters should be transcoded into “proxy” files, much smaller in size, e.g. H.264, .mp4 or other type. The resulting smaller file size can then be viewed on most home computers, shared, downloaded or streamed.

Transcoding charge: flat rate of $12 per MP4 file.
Proxies w/ Code Burn-In: flat rate $17 per MP4 file.

Delivery Media

USB Thumb Drive, External Drive, M-Disc, Cloud

As a matter of course, Second Debut will provide media at the best market price available, usually through Staples in Canada and the US. We simply pass the cost of the USB or HDD directly to you. Cloud delivery is recommended for content less than 2 hours, via shared folder on Google Drive, at a nominal charge of $10.00

Archival Work

Copy to M-Disc Blu-Ray

Preserving content to Lifetime M-Disc is the ultimate safeguarding method. But it is more time consuming due to the engraving process and disc changes(100 GB per).
